Hi All,

Just to let you know that I have spoken to Maureen Holroyd, Swimming Development and we are fine to continue training through the August break and she will make sure we have Lifeguard cover.

Best regards,

Thank You :-) had already forgotten the spelling, and it struck me as a lovely word to use every now and then. Ranks up with incorrigible in my all time favourite words (if only I didn't have a lisp I would so it all the time).

Prior to joining BOK i used to swim with leeds masters at the Morley pool. When i joined it was a thiving squad but after loosing the coach it rapidly declinded in numbers until we got another coach then numbers went back to an ok level.I think its vital we get another coach when Nick leaves or i can see the same thing happening at BOK which would be a crying shame.

I have begun to try to implement this. My left arm has always had a tendency to slip. I am sure now that it is a dropped elbow. Feeling that the elbow turns up as the pull begins does give a better feel that the left arm is doing its bit.

Hello David

I believe you have the good(mis?!)fortune to know Ester Wegher from the Stainland Lions?
She has pointed me in the direction of this website with regards Masters swimming. Being a former swimmer I'm interested in getting back into swim training again so, in one short question, whats the BOK masters all about and would an over weight ex swimmer be welcome to join?

One other thing, I noticed you're after open water swimming suggestions. Salford Water Sports centre does lifeguarded open water swimming sessions http://www.salford.gov.uk/openwaterswim.htm if you are prepared to venture out of calderdale.

Cheers

The theme is atuahalpa

It is really quite powerful. I have spoiled it by the use of some daft pictures, but I wil get them right before too long.

Walking a few miles today convinced me that barefoot running may be sensible in many other places in the world, but not in Calderdale or Kirklees in the UK in 2010.

Within five miles, and without particularly looking I walked through three sections where there was smashed glass on the pavement. Not great big bits, but the small sharp sort which would really damage a barefoot.
